Hello, hello! We’re trying something new for today’s Tea Party. What would you do in the scenarios given below? Grab a nice cup of tea or whatever makes you feel coziest and settle in with us for 72 hours alone.
You have 72 hours to get some personal work done! What work are you working on?
Pineapple
I have a lot of things I’d love to work on. Recently, I wanted to get off screens because I was kinda sorta developing a migraine and I thought it might help, so I picked up an old knitting project I have sitting in the closet. I’d like to do that, maybe. Maybe I can work it into part of my daily routine, since if I do it for too long my hands start to hurt. I’d really like to clean. I feel like if I’m doing the day job, I don’t really have the energy for a deep clean. I’d like to go through my clothes and get rid of ones I don’t need.
But of course my number ones are reading and writing. I always say I want to read more, and I’ve been doing better about it lately, but I still don’t have all the time I want to just lay there and read. I’d love to catch up on all the writing I’m behind on, too. I’d finish up How Journeys End and start on whatever my next project will be, work on some other writing projects I have. I guess I’d probably go through different things depending on my mood, but I could definitely keep myself busy and productive if I had the energy and the time to.

I found some classes online through the library that I’ve been really wanting to take. Some are focused on things for work and some of them are about JAAM related stuff like writing and marketing, but there’s also an art class I’ve been eyeing just for fun. I doodle on everything anyway, so it’d be cool if I could draw more than stick figures. I don’t think I could finish all of these classes in 72 hours, but I could probably get a pretty decent start. Oh, and there are some emails I’ve been meaning to get to. And I definitely need to write more.
Self care time! 72 hours to take care of yourself! What are you doing to make sure you’re ready to go back to daily life?

Sleep! I’d definitely sleep for sure. I’m learning that I’m a lighter sleeper than I used to be, so I’d sleep when I want to without setting an alarm and wake up naturally.
I’d also like to take a loooooong bath. Exfoliate and moisturize. Do my skin care and then change into nice, clean pajamas. And then sleep some more lol.
I listen to music a lot, so I’d probably put good music on a speaker and have it playing all the time. Some alone time and some music is some of my best healing time, honestly. That, and getting done what I haven’t been able to!

I have some laundry to fold, and I’ve been wanting to try a new hair mask. Tidying up around the house would be another nice thing to do for future me. I also want to go through all my stationary and reorganize my workspace and bookshelf. (I got a bookshelf, by the way! I think I’d mentioned wanting to get one back in our Tea Party about creative workplaces two years ago!) I also probably need to drink more water since I tend to forget. And maybe catch up on sleep too? But to be honest, I’d rather catch up with family and friends than sleep. A bit of journaling and planner set up would also be good. I’ll probably stop the list here, though; another way I’ve been practicing self care is by trying to avoid making unrealistic to-do lists, so I wouldn’t want this one to get too long.
You’re going to a place to be alone for three days. Where do you go?
Pineapple
To be honest, I’d be okay at home alone if everybody else left LOL I housesat for some family last year and that was nice as well. I’m not super picky. If I can sleep, make coffee in the morning, and have my laptop with wifi, I’ll probably be okay?
I’ve never gone on a trip by myself, so I’m hesitant to say I’d like it. The beach might be nice. I’ve thought about trying one of those isolation cabin type things. The “isolation” part is what’s important for the getaway here.

Oh, man. Is there an option to not go? I’m definitely a people person, and three days alone sounds like torture if I’m being honest. If I did have to go, though, maybe someplace cold? It’s been pretty hot here lately. Somewhere with a cabin, big trees, and lots of snow and hot chocolate would be very nice right about now. Also somewhere I’d have access to lots of books and shows to watch. Hopefully they’d take my mind off of the silence until I could go back to extroverting again.
What’s your ideal way to spend 72 hours on your own?
Pineapple
My every day minus the day job and everyone else. I live with other people, so sometimes being alone is all I really need. I could come and go as I pleased, cook only for myself and clean up after only myself. Work without being distracted or called away or watch something without worrying about bothering anybody else. It would be so freeing to be able to do that.
Alternately, three days at the beach!!!

Reading an entire book series back to back to back. Or marathoning a show or movie series. Or finishing a video game. Although, I prefer to watch shows and play video games with other people more than I do on my own. But if I can’t have people around, the fictional characters will have to do.
Thanks for stopping by!
