It’s January of 2025! Not only does that mean it’s time for a Tea Party, but it also means it’s our anniversary! The 11th marked our fourth year together. Thank you so much for supporting us for this long. Let’s take a look back at our past year together! It’s extra cold, so grab a warm drink and enjoy!
This is our 4th anniversary with JAAM! How did this year go?
Pineapple
This year brought with it a lot of turbulence and a lot of changes, both in my personal life and JAAM-wise. But I think things went alright. I couldn’t do everything that I wanted, but that’s okay. There’s always time in the future for that. I’m happy with the content that I put out!
Apple
This year was full of new things! We all work in different ways, and I think one of the things we did that showed this most clearly was the Tea Party episode where we were given the same three tropes and each of us had to come up with a synopsis. It was so much fun getting to see what Raspberry and Pineapple came up with, and I totally wouldn’t be mad at seeing more from those ideas in the future!
Raspberry
This year was a roller coaster! From life changes to finishing up Gray Hearts and tackling a second season of CatCS, it’s been a fun experience. I wasn’t able to get as much done as I would have liked, but I’m learning to accept my limits (I, unfortunately, am not Wonder Woman).
Did you learn anything from last year? What message would you pass on to your future self?
Pineapple
I think I learned a lot! I said it last tea party, but I did read a couple business books last year. Even if I won’t use that information right away, I think everything that you learn is useful in one way or another and helps you become a more rounded human being. So I’m happy that I learned some new things and I think it’ll help in the future.
I think I would just tell the me of today, “have fun and do your best!” Ha ha. Sometimes I take things too seriously and I’m afraid I’ve been too controlling in the past. So I’m trying to relinquish some of that control I feel that I need and just live and let be.
Apple
We researched a lot of cool stuff. And also a lot of paperwork-y stuff, haha. Everyone worked so hard this past year, and I’m really proud of the fam when I look back on all the things we’ve learned and all the new ideas we’ve tried out. Just thinking about it makes me feel super, unmeasurably grateful to Raspberry and Pineapple!
Raspberry
Life really has its seasons, and sometimes it’s hard to transition from one season of life to the next, but I’m learning to be more accepting of this. I hope future me keeps trying hard without overworking!
Do you have any favorite JAAM moments from this past year?
Pineapple
Actually I got a REALLY SUPER NICE compliment last year that I haven’t been able to let go of ha ha ha ha I’m honestly still flying on it
Other than that, I’m really happy to have started HIGS. It’s been a story idea since I was in high school, so I’m so excited to finally be able to share the characters with everyone.
Apple
Right as How Journeys End was wrapping up and I was getting in my feelings about how much I was going to miss my favorite characters and the fantastic world that Pineapple had built, Pineapple started sending the work she was doing for her next series. Superheroes? With a hint of academia? And a bajillion plot reasons for me to break out my conspiracy theory board? Harris Institute for Gifted Students has definitely been one of the highlights of my year! But then Gray Hearts wrapped up too, and I wasn’t ready to let go of those wonderful characters and magical seasons either. Except Raspberry had been hinting at a continuation of Cat and the Cryptid Summer, and now it’s back! This series has my whole heart—and also my mom’s. She literally texted me in all caps the day the sequel was announced. We’re both so hyped about it! Getting Cat and the gang back was for sure another highlight of 2024!
Raspberry
I’m always so excited to read Apple and Pineapple’s work, whether it’s a Tea Party post or story chapter. It’s so hard to choose a favorite moment!
Are you looking forward to anything this upcoming year?
Pineapple
I’m so looking forward to what Raspberry and Apple are going to do this year!
I’m also eager to continue HIGS and finish this story. Who knows what’ll happen after that? I’m excited to find out!
Apple
I’m definitely looking forward to more fangirling. Pineapple and Raspberry always deliver when it comes to great stories and art, so I know I’ll have plenty to fangirl about in 2025! I’m also looking forward to tackling the reading goals I set for myself in last month’s Tea Party episode.
Raspberry
I’m excited to get back in Cat and Gran’s world! My mom and Apple’s mom have been giving the best fangirl vibes, which was really encouraging. I just hope it lives up to expectations!
